As an initiative of the newly formed Launceston Retail Partnership, a campaign designed to promote the negative impact shop lifting can have on young people.
The short videos are a joint collaboration between the Launceston Retail Partnership and Launceston College media students who have produced two short 30 second videos. The aim of the videos is to create awareness for young people on the implications shop lifting can have on their life.
Designed by young people, for young people and filmed in Launceston, the videos use a slightly humorous approach to the serious issue of theft.
The Launceston Retail Partnership was established earlier this year to investigate ways in which crime and anti-social behaviour in Launceston could be reduced and comprises of representatives from local and state government, local business and Tasmania Police.
