Winter Events & Offers

We'd like to share what you have planned, no matter how big or small, for the cooler months.

If you have new stock arriving, an end of season clearance, product launches, free samples, anything - we want to hear about it and push it to a wider audience for you this winter. It can be an existing promotion you are already running, or just something a little different that you do to entice people to come out of hibernation and into Central Launceston.

Already planned a launch night, live music, degustation, book signing or something completely out of the ordinary? Please let us know, we would love to help you promote your event for FREE on with some additional spruiking through our social channels and email subscribers, as well as local newspaper, radio and more!

If you'd like to try something different or are in need of some ideas and inspiration, take a look at our list here.

It is free and easy to be involved, so make the most of this fantastic opportunity and gain some extra exposure for your business. There is no limit on the number of offers or events you provide and we will continue to take submissions throughout June, July and August.

So, why wouldn't you get involved? Register an offer or event with us via

There's nothing that warms you up from the inside more than a hot bowl of soup, well maybe coffee, and we are on the hunt for the best soup in the City!

Running throughout the month of July, we are inviting you to put forward your best winter soup and prepare for battle. You will need to choose one soup recipe to put up as your Soupalicious entry that will be available daily during July. We will list your soup and business on, along with all the other entries where the public will be able to vote their favourite soup!

The competition will be advertised through social media, newsletter subscribers, radio and in The Examiner, encouraging the public to come into the city to try as many soup’s as they can in July, and cast their vote online!

Please email Amanda,, to register your interest.

Stories Behind the Businesses

We know what makes Launceston great is the stories and faces behind the businesses, so we'd like to share a more personal side of the City and celebrate the people behind some of our most treasured businesses.

Last year we ran four stories on local businesses written by Fiona Stocker, you can read them here. This year we'd like to share even more stories, so we are looking for businesses and owners who are deserving of a feature in the Winterlicious campaign.

So if you think this is you and your business, or know someone who would make a great story, let us know in 50 words or less 'Why your story will get people talking about Winterlicious' via

Winter Solstice

We think it's worth celebrating the shortest day in winter, so we are asking you to join us in painting the town red. We have organised for a few of the city's landmarks to be lit red for Winter Solstice on Saturday 22 June, and we'd like you to join in as well. We would like to see as many shop fronts as possible "painted red" through changing your lighting, window displays or any other way that may catch the attention of passers by as they make their way along Launceston's Winter Solstice trail (to be confirmed).

We will have more details on this event soon. If you'd like information on this community event or to register your interest, please contact Kristy,

Beats, Brews & Barbecues

What better way to celebrate the final month of winter than with an all Australian barbecue, with a winter twist! We will be holding a barbecue festival, Beats, Brews & Barbecues, on Saturday 22 August to celebrate the delicious food and beverages that warm up a winters evening in a new city location.

More details on this event are to come. If you're interested in getting involved in this event, please email your expression of interest to Amanda,
